NEW CHRISTMAS CHIPBOARD ALBUM

Oh my gosh I love this new album. It is made up of a Santa Hat, Christmas Tree, Mitten, Ornament, Snowman and a Gingerbread Man! And it is only $2.50!!!! This chipboard album would make a great quick little Christmas gift to make or just give as is. But the other thought I am working on is each one being a super special gift tag. Oh yeah, they would be perfect as a gift tag.

So many ideas you could use for this set just get working. There isn't much time left to Christmas. I think I am going to make a album with the kids with this. It can showcase our cookie making night. I love brag books that I can take with me. This over all measures approx. 7 x 7. But truly every page is a different size. For instance the snowman at his largest point width wise is 3 1/2 x 6 3/4" tall. So they do vary. I hope you really enjoy this set!

SNOWFLAKE BOX AND CHRISTMAS CARD

Well here I go again with one of my new favorite things to use when creating. I have a tone of clothing patterns. When you look at things for a different use it can really turn out great. Many times with backgrounds it is very hard to find just he right paper. Especially for someone that loves to use tans, ivory, and cream and they don't exist to your liking. Patterns to the rescue. It is totally thin. It wrinkles perfectly and it adds a great addition of dimension to your project. And don't get me started on the way it takes ink.

On this snowflake gift box, I used some fabulous die cut snowflakes to decorate with. And here is how simple it was...

1. Put glue on the areas that I wanted the pattern paper to stick to.
2. Scrunched up the pattern paper then partially smoothe it over the areas with the glue
3. If you did not tear enough off just add a small piece to cover the box(it all melts together and you can not see the patched areas, plus it adds a great color effect.)
4. I took a brown ink pad and and gently went over the paper to only highlight the wrinkles.
5. Glue down the snowflakes making sure to go off the edges with them (this gives a much more pleasing and natural look.)

Make a matching tag and tie it on!

You now have a great simple gift box for the holiday season. I think packaging is key to a wonderful present. Simple backed goods can be brought up to a whole new level with great packaging. Below you can see close up the great effect you get from using the clothing pattern paper.

This next card as well was so simple, but with adding the music paper as garland you get something a little extra special. I cut out all of the card stock and inked the edges. Next I die cut the tree and added some glue where I wanted the garland to stick down. Gave a little "back and forth fold" to the music paper and held it down a minute until the glue dried a bit. So simple and so pretty. Hard to see in the picture but I added some great crackle to the star to stand out more. And there you have it. Another simple and fun card made in minutes. The longest part of this one is the crackle dry time.

Hi all! Yes, I am still working on all things holiday. I will be doing a great count down to Christmas in November with a new and different idea for you. But right now I am just playing. Here is one of my latest ATC's. I really was having fun with my metallic ink and chipboard pieces parts. I am totally falling in love with the mixed media aspects of creating. I have some fabulous vintage images from old Christmas cards that my mom had so kindly tracked down for me a while ago. They sat here in this pretty little box and now they have been coming out to get cut up and played with.

When I was a kid my dad would stand beside the large white book shelves in our room and read to us "The Night Before Christmas" poem after a wonderful Christmas Eve celebration at my grandmothers. He was very animated so you really got the true excitement of the poem while he read it. When I saw this card front from mom, it is the first thing I thought of. And at our house time and clocks truly where a big part of the holiday season. We would look at that big Grandfather Clock to see how long before Santa arrived. Plus, that was where my father would perch a present for the entire family every year. The box would either contain the present as it sat on top of the clock. Or it would have something in it that would represent something else that was too large to fit up there. For instance, the year we got a trip to Disney World. Kind of hard to fit the castle and mono-rail up there so there where travel books and plans. Or the year we got our dog DUKE. It wouldn't have been nice to leave a puppy in a box on top of a clock that rang every 15 minute during the holiday season. Any who, time was important during the holiday's for us so adding CLOCKS means something to me. What in your work means something to you? Add something to a layout or project that maybe only a sibling of yours would understand and the "...oh I remember that" statements are sure to follow!

How Do You Use That Product?

I have many people ask me how I use certain embellishments that I make. They know they like the embellishment, but they aren't sure what they would do with it. This has led me to actively try to use the new products I create in projects that you can draw inspiration from. Here is a ATC or could be used as a GIFT TAG, just needs a whole punched. I took some scraps of paper, I like to call them "table scraps", and layer them in no certain size onto one of my base chipboard ATC's. Next, I took one of my Paris Base Cards and cut out the image. Then I took one of the chipboard frames in the middle size and turned it over. OK, this is where my mind starts to work over time every once and a while. I was working last night and I turned over this little frame and realized that there is a impression on the back, along the edges, from me die cutting it. Well, next I took a brown marker to it and it ends up kind of looking like a real piece of metal. The lesson here...TURN THINGS OVER! Any who, I attached those with a couple of dark brads lending to the metal look and added one of the flowers from my new sets. And there you go. It looks like a little piece of ATC/ACEO heaven to me. And of course my most important lesson that I ever learned from SHREK was about LAYERS. You know, the entire thing where he explains to Donkey that he is made up of layers like a onion. Yes, I am the mother of a lot of kids...can you tell. I am happy with it and I hope it inspires you as well to put together some odds and ends and create something fabulous today as well. Fun New Products on The Lane!

Here is my latest thought in ATC's. I want to do the year in ATC highlights. I am creating a set of months of the year as the base for you to then add a 2.5 x 3.5 ATC to. The base cards measure 2 3/4's x 3.5 so when they are on the rounder you can quickly turn to the month you are looking for. Kind of like file tabs. Let me know what you think of them. I am always trying to come up with more fun things for you guys to ATC with!

So a bunch of these great little chipboard buttons have arrived here at Brambleberry Lane. They come in RED, ORANGE AND GREEN/BLUE. I have already sold out of the brown choice but I am trying to get more. I will let you know if I do. What I think would be great is to add these to fabric flowers or to paper ones and really add great dimension to a card, tag or page!

More White Chipboard Fun with Frames

I just can't stop the fun with fabulous chipboard shapes. Here is my latest entry into the world of embellishments. They are chipboard frames. I started out with white but I am also going to offer them in solid cardstock as well so that people have options. They have perfect holes for brads to connect them to your project. I love adding demention to a project and with this set of 16 it will be easy for you to do.

I have also had some new keys that I am working on and they will be fun too. I am also going to be making up packages. Maybe you don't want 16 of one thing but 4 of one plus 4 of a bunch of others would be a better configuration. So keep an eye out for those great little starter packages coming your way.

Has it been cold where you all are? It surley has been here. I am totally missing being able to visit with my family with all the weird weather we have been having. The kids have gotten in a bunch of snow time which is grand. Have you sat on a sled in years? I did the other day and I must say it was so funny. Walking back up the hill was a adventure and it makes you feel young. Or maybe that was just the fact that my face was frozen. As you see here, Pat and Noah enjoyed it all as well!

WHAT CAN I MAKE WITH WHITE CHIPBOARD?

Well I have been trying to think of new things that would make everyone want to create. That really has been a mission of mine for a long time. I walk into a craft store and think."oh yes I can". But then I go and teach a scrapbooking class and I find these people that have never had

that rush of feeling and thought that you must go home and create something fabulous. So to help the masses this is what I do. Find one thing and turn it into another so you can try too. So before Christmas, when all of my power outage problems where going on, I was delivered a package of white chipboard that I had ordered. It was the last thing on my mind at the time with the weather and holiday's causing confusion and delay with my schedule. But now that the holiday fog has lifted, lets do it! So yesterday we started with the white chipboard ATC's and maybe by the end of the day you will find some more chipboard fun. I know you are excited.

As far as inspiration is concerned, have you ever just tried copying. I know you die hard scrappers out there get a ton of Scrapbooking Mags. Why not try to copy one of those great layouts and make it your own. Do the sketch thing. Just draw the layout on paper and change the colors to the papers you have on hand. Don't waist what you have already purchased, use it and love it. And once again I will tell you to "TRY ATC'S". I promise you will love how quick and easy it is to finish something!
